Neevotsav is our annual drama,
This year we did The Snow Queen.
I was Gerda in the story,
The bravest I have ever been.

Practice under the sun was hard,
But still it was so much fun.
We laughed and learned our lines together
Till our day was done.

One day we practiced till eight,
Which was very, very late.
We were tired but excited too,
Because we knew the show would be great.

If someone forgot their lines,
We helped them right away.
“Don’t worry,” we would always say,
“You’ll do it! Hip hip hooray!”

One day our teacher lost his voice,
But he still came every day.
He showed us what to do with actions
And helped us in every way.

Before going on the stage,
Butterflies filled my tummy.
My heart was beating fast and loud,
I felt a little funny.

Then our teacher showed us a trick,
To breathe in and breathe out slow.
When we tried it on our own,
Our butterflies began to go.

Sounds of claps and cheers
Rang loudly in our ears.
The audience praised and clapped for us,
Filling our hearts with cheers.

My face was full of happiness,
My smile had such a glow.
I felt so proud and confident
While standing on the stage of the show.

Neevotsav helped me learn
Not to be shy at all.
Being Gerda in The Snow Queen
Was my best memory of all.
